Impact and engagement
The Work and Equalities Institute has a longstanding international reputation for producing cutting-edge research that has real world impact and engages with audiences beyond academia.
In the 2021 REF, Alliance Manchester Business School was ranked third in the UK for ‘research power’, with 91% of research activity, and 95% of impact case studies, assessed as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
Researchers from the WEI submitted four impact cases to REF 2021, all of which were graded ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. These four impact cases can be viewed below.
Our research is used in knowledge exchange, dialogue and debate with key stakeholders and policymakers, and helps make informed contributions to policy formation and the development of practice.
